Tanya Acorn, daughter of E. Frank "Duck" Acorn (c. 1911-1998) and Florence "Tillie" E. MacKay Acorn (c. 1921-2002), of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, is a resident of Tantallon, Nova Scotia. Frank's father Ed Acorn opened Ed's Taxi in Charlottetown in 1920, and Frank ran the taxi service from 1948 until 1989 when he sold the company to Aubrey B. Ferguson. Frank also acted as secretary for the Charlottetown Driving Park for a time. Tanya's mother Florence was employed at Reddin Bros. Drug Store on Richmond Street in Charlottetown from 1938 until its closure in 1977. During her almost forty years at Reddin Brothers, Leo M. Doucette and Roy M. Smallman were the owners and pharmacists.
