History

Johnson, third child of George (1779-1857) and Hannah Aitken (?-1858) married Elizabeth Beairsto (?-1858) on 17 January 1833. They built a house in Lower Montague, Prince Edward Island. Johnson helped his father operate his grist mill for a short time while farming and operating a livery on his own property. He was Under Sheriff for Kings County (1835-1839, 1843) and Surveyor of Timber for Three Rivers in 1850. He and Elizabeth had seven children: Margaret Hannah (1834-1835), George Beairsto (1836-1909), James Montague (1838-1909), Eliza Ann (1841-1856), Benjamin (1846-?), Frances (?) and Samuel (1851-1930). Johnson died on 17 January 1885.
