Albert William Wood was born 12 November 1922 to Albert and Nettie (Young) Wood. He lived in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island until the age of ten, at which point he moved with his family to Dundas. In 1938 Albert finished school and went to work in the lumber woods in Nova Scotia. In 1942 he began to farm part of his grandfather

Title based on provenance of the fonds
The fonds consists of genealogical records pertaining to various families which are connected to the Wood family. The material was likely collected and used by Albert in the writing of his Wood genealogy entitled "An Island Family". The fonds also includes notes, transcripts of church, cemetery, land, and census records, a birth and baptismal certificate for Albert William Wood, a Catechism primer belonging to Albert Wood, correspondence, a diary (1974), six postcards and five photographs.
