Alexander McGregor Stewart was born 4 February 1858. According to marriage license records, Alexander McGregor Stewart was a widower in 1896, when he married the widow Euphemia McGregor (b. 17 August 1883). Both were of Southport, Lot 48, Prince Edward Island. The 1901 census lists Alexander and Euphemia as having three sons and three daughters. On the 12 April 1903, Alexander McGregor Stewart was shot to death by his hired farmhand, Joseph Carver.
