History

David Athol Barbour, the eldest son of Margaret (Gordon) and James Barbour, was born on 16 April 1893 in Alma, Prince Edward Island. As a young man, he moved to western Canada where he found employment with the Canadian National Railways. He served during World War I and returned to work for the CNR until he retired in 1958. He then lived and worked in Los Angeles, California, for 21 years before moving to Victoria, British Columbia. He died there on 28 August 1990. David was married to Alice Williams and had one step-daughter, Paulette.
