Ruth Anderson (1905-1985) was the daughter of Alexander Cairns (1865-1934) and Annie Alice Anderson (1863-1942). As a young woman, Ruth Anderson left Lower Freetown and moved to Summerside where she was employed by R. T. Holman Ltd. Following her marriage to Edson Rayner in 1934, Ruth lived with her husband on his farm in Clermont. Ruth and Edson had two children: Sally Ann and Hopgood. She was an active member of the church and held several positions within the Clermont Women
