Custodial history

Scope and content

This fonds consists of five volumes relating to the Cambridge family genealogy. The first volume in this series traces the family and commercial history of the Cambridge family from Wotton under Edge to London and Prince Edward Island and back again to Bristol. Many primary and secondary sources are quoted in their entirety. Other volumes contain compilations of references to John Cambridge in printed sources, outline the ancestry of Cambridge's mother Sarah Wallington, and transcribe and annotate the letter books of John and Mary Cambridge. A fifth volume contains transcriptions of primary source documents relating to the Cambridge family found in the holdings of the National Archives of Canada.
