History

The Cavendish-Breadalbane United Church pastoral charge, Prince Edward Island, was established by the union of the Cavendish and Breadalbane four-point charges in 1969. South Granville and North Rustico churches were closed and the newly formed charge continued with the congregations of Cavendish, Stanley Bridge, Breadlabane, Rose Valley, Pleasant Valley, and New Glasgow. In 1987, the Pleasant Valley and Rose Valley churches were closed and the Breadalbane church was remodeled to accommodate the larger congregation. The church was renamed Central Trinity United Church. Granville, along with Pleasant Valley, Hunter River, and Wheatley River, was originally part of the Granville pastoral charge. It is unknown when this latter charge was divided.
