History

The Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church in Prince Edward Island was built in 1878, and became Pleasant Valley United Church following the United Church movement in 1925. Members of the Pleasant Valley congregation met on an annual basis to discuss issues relating to the running of the church.

In February 1986, the United Church congregations of Rose Valley, Breadalbane, and Pleasant Valley met at the Breadalbane United Church to discuss the issue of amalgamation. The Breadalbane church, which was originally built in 1913 as a Presbyterian church, was renovated and renamed Central Trinity United Church. In May of 1987, the three congregations were officially amalgamated. Although the old Pleasant Valley church is no longer a place of regular worship, it has been preserved as a heritage building. Members of Central Trinity United continue to have annual meetings to discuss the past year
