History

The Prince Edward Island Clan MacLeod Society was formed, at the request of Dame Flora MacLeod, Chief of Clan MacLeod, in 1957. The first President of the PEI Society was Wilfred MacLeod, and the first secretary was Norman S. MacLeod. The PEI Clan MacLeod Society is one of eleven National Clan MacLeod Societies of Canada which represent Canada in the world-wide Clan MacLeod Societies. The Societies' objectives are the strengthening of Clan MacLeod fellowship and the promotion of Scottish heritage through history and Celtic arts. The PEI Clan MacLeod Society contributed to this objective through local events and projects including clan gatherings, musical performances, church services, and the publishing of a history of MacLeods on Prince Edward Island.
