This series contains correspondence to and from the Rural Development Council including memoranda primarily to staff, general correspondence, and correspondence with the Provincial Government bodies primarily involved with the RDC, namely the Economic Improvement Corporation and the Department of Development. The general correspondence deals primarily with issues, training and other activities, staff and information about similar organizations. Correspondence with EIC and the Dept. of Development are concerned with the role of RDC in the Public Participation component of the Comprehensive Development Plan, i.e. in the counseling and community development areas. The later correspondence deals with the evaluation and review of this role and the government's decision to terminate the contract with RDC. The last two files include letters and press releases documenting RDC's response, and that of the public to the termination.
