Tierney, D. Frank (b. 1893)

Biographical history

D. Frank Tierney was born on the 18 May 1893, the youngest son of Joseph Tierney (1847-1938) and Mary Ann MacAulay (1852-1940), of Souris, Prince Edward Island. His father, Joseph, was a Captain and Master Mariner. Frank had seven siblings: Mary Jane, Mabel E., Agnes Ida, Margaret Ann, May, Catherine Leah, and William Angus. Frank was a schoolteacher. He married Mary Alice MacMillan, with whom he had at least one child, Leith W. Tierney.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of a public school license issued by the PEI Board of Education to Frank Tierney on the 26 May 1911, as well as four photographs. Three of the four photographs depict Frank Tierney, his wife Mary Anne, and son Leith W. Tierney, ca. 1939. The fourth photograph is a picture of his mother and sisters taken ca. 1900.
