History
Edna L. Dixon nee Smith was one of eight children born to Matthew Smith and Sarah Elizabeth Lea. She was born in October 1893 and spent her childhood on the family farm in Hampton, Prince Edward Island. She also helped out in the Pleasant View Hotel which was part of her home. On 23 June 1911, Edna married Jack Dixon, son of John Dixon, woolen and grist mill owner from DeSable. She survived her husband, who died in February 1962, by many years and at the time this account was recorded lived at Spring Park Court, a senior citizen's residence in Charlottetown.
