Biographical history
Dr. John C. McKeon, a native of Port Glencoe, Northern Ireland, arrived on Prince Edward Island, in 1832. His first medical practice was established at Belfast. He later relocated to Georgetown where he practiced until his death in 1878.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of the following account book for his practice between June 1836 and 1883. This volumes contains a chronological account of patients treated. Entries give the patient's name, place of residence, medication prescribed, and amount owing. Occasionally, the nature of the illness is given. A separate listing of babies delivered, entered under the father's name, gives sex of child, date of delivery, and amount owing for services.
