History

Charles Samuel Drew was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on 5 August, 1875, the son of Charles William Drew (1817-1898), cabinet-maker, and his second wife, Jane Rider Jarvis (1830-1919). A dry goods salesman at Moore and MacLeod, Drew eventually became head salesman and director of the Company. In 1916 he married Mary Wilson Fraser (Mamie) Gillespie. He was also an amateur photographer and friend of A.W. Mitchell. He died in 1935.
