Mrs. Reginald Reeves was born Elizabeth Burns, ca. 1907. The Reeves family operated a small diversified family farm in Lower Freetown, Prince Edward Island, for many years. Mrs. Reeves died in 1993.

Title based on contents of the fonds
The fonds consists of a series of diaries from 1939 to 1979. Each covers a period of approximately five or six years with entries for the same day of each year written on the same page. Entries contain information about the weather, farm chores, family and community events. At the end of each diary there is a section containing items of interest such as genealogical information, deaths, marriages, fires, and community happenings from the area of Freetown, Bedeque, Wiltshire, and Kensington.
