Administrative history

The "Erema" was built at Morell in 1877 by William Hayden for James, George & Ralph Brecken Peake and Thomas Handrahan. She was a three masted barquentine of 299 gross tonnage, 122' long, 27' wide and 15' deep. She was reregistered in 1892.

This fonds consists of an extract containing a detailed account of the voyage of the "Erema" from Liverpool to Belfast and from thence through gales, high seas, snow squalls, and ice to Georgetown and Charlottetown. Disbursements are recorded and averaged by York-Antwerp rules. The cargo is listed by shipper, with name of consignee, contents and value, along with the proportion allowed according to the general average, deposits previously made, and the balance owing the shippers.
