Custodial history

Scope and content

The fonds consists of textual records and visual material created by Geoffrey Hogan. Five volumes of journals, which date from May 1986 to December 1991, contain personal reflections as well as documentation of the garden and wildlife surrounding his residence in Springvale, PEI. The fonds also contains five thousand, three hundred and seventy-three slides, which are identified and organized into fifteen binders. The majority of these slides depict PEI's wildlife and plant life, as well as Hogan's residential "Birdseye Garden." Other slides include coastal scenes of PEI, as well as other locations within the Canadian Provinces and some US states.

Arrangement

Some of the slides are missing from the binders, and are usually identified. These have been included in the total count of the slides. Almost all slides are identified as to subject, place and date. A small percentage were purchased rather than taken by Geoff Hogan
