Biographical history

Little is known about George Beales who was born around 1809. George and his wife Mary Ann had seven children who survived their early childhood, including George, William, Sarah Ann, James, Caroline, John and Helen. George died 29 May 1874 and is buried in the Sherwood Cemetery, Prince Edward Island.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of the account book of George Beales covering the years 1848-1865. The first page of the account book gives the names and birth dates of George's children. The rest of the account book lists sales of meat, butter, tobacco, wood and potatoes by George to members of the community. There are also some entries which appear to list what George owed other people for services he received.
