History
On 8 April 1947 nineteen women met at the Winsloe, Prince Edward Island, community hall to discuss organizing a group to raise funds for the hall. At a subsequent meeting the group chose the name Hi Wi Mi Club. At the monthly meeting of August 1949 the decision was made to change the Club to a Women's Institute. It became known as the Highfield Women's Institute.
