Series consists of the journal of the telegraph operator at Cape Traverse recording the daily weather and the times of departure and arrival of the ice boats as well as the number of bags of mail and passengers being transported. It occasionally documents difficulties of passage and names of the boatmen. There are several references to the steamer "Stanley".
