History

The Kenmare Orange Lodge (L.O.L. #1463) was established ca. 1878 in Tyne Valley, Prince Edward Island. The Lodge had fourteen members in its first year and the first Master was William McLean. The Lodge operated for a time and then disbanded before being revived again in 1893. Beginning in that year, the Lodge met in Ellerslie on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The members of the Kenmare Lodge took an active part in Lodge activities, participating in lectures, twelfth of July festivities, and organizing social events.
