Wendell Kielly was born in West Covehead, Prince Edward Island, on 26 April 1901, the son of G. Herbert and Sarah A. (Wheeler) Kielly. Wendell Kielly was noted in the area as a local historian and collector of genealogy. Mr. Kielly died a bachelor in Charlottetown on 20 May 1985 at the age of 84.
