Sue (Muncey) Lowther, aunt of Doris Muncey Haslam, was born on 16 November 1884 to T. C. and Harriet Muncey of Cape Traverse, Prince Edward Island. Sue received her nurses training in Massachusetts, United States of America, and worked in the field until her marriage to Leigh Lowther (1880-1949) of Carleton, PEI, in 1931. The couple resided in Carleton. Sue was a charter member of the Carleton Siding Women
