History

Edward MacDonald was born and attended elementary school in Newport, Prince Edward Island. Following graduation from high school he studied at the University of Prince Edward Island and completed his PhD in history at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. For thirteen years he was curator at the Prince Edward Island Museum and Heritage Foundation and for fifteen years he edited the Museum's popular history journal "The Island Magazine." He is currently Associate Professor of History at the University of Prince Edward Island.
