Jean MacFadyen (1893-1986) was a resident of Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Born at Bell's Point, Cape Traverse, she was the daughter of Finlay and Minnie MacFadyen. She received her education from Augustine Cove School, Prince of Wales College, and Ladies College in Regina, Saskatchewan. Her many careers included teacher, newspaper reporter, and author. She was Summerside's Citizen of the Year in 1979.
