History

Andrew MacLeod, the son of Kenneth MacLeod and Margaret MacPherson, was born in the New London, Prince Edward Island, area in 1856. He had eight siblings: William H., Annie, Eliza, Alma, George, Edgar, Barbara, and Amelia. Andrew married Joanna Profit (1860-1943), of Eel Creek, with whom he had three children: Emeline (1885-1964), William P. (1887-1983), and K. Heath (1891-1977).

In 1893, Andrew purchased a farm to the south of the Irishtown Road from a John Burke. K. Heath, his wife, and children lived on the family farm as did Emeline, who never married. Andrew died there in 1951 at the age of 95 and was buried in the cemetery at Geddie Memorial Church in New London.
