The New Glasgow Women's Institute was founded on 7 March 1924 in New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island. Mrs. Percy Dickieson was the first elected president. The organization raised funds within the community through such activities as taking up collections, community dinners, concerts, and selling cook books. The funds raised were donated to charities and used to support their local school.
