The Orwell Dairying Company flourished for the first three decades of the 20th century. It built and operated a cheese and butter factory at Orwell Cove, Prince Edward Island. The cheese-maker in 1921 was John Murchison. By 1932 the production of cheese had ceased and the factory closed ca. 1936.
