History
On 14 October 1937 seventy women of St. Avard's District, Prince Edward Island, met to organize a women's institute. It was named Parkdale Women's Institute at the second meeting and remained an energetic and active community organization until the eighties when membership began to fall off. It was disbanded in 1992.
