History

James Power was born 6 April 1856 in Prince Edward Island. On 31 July 1883 he married Mary McMahon. The couple lived at Emerald Junction where James worked as a blacksmith. James and Mary had seven children, including Peter, George, Mary, Catherine, Maggie, James and Florence Power. James continued to work as a blacksmith until at least 1930. He died in 1947 and is buried with his wife Mary and his son George in the St. James Roman Catholic cemetary in Springfield, Prince Edward Island.
