History

The Provincial Archaeology Committee was struck by the then Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs, Gordon Lank, in April 1984 in an attempt to bolster provincial efforts in the administration of the Archaeological Investigations Act and in coordinating archaeological activities on Prince Edward Island. It was designed as an advisory committee only, charged with preparing a report on future directions and priorities for archaeology in the province.
