The series consists of two subseries: Research on Prince Edward Island history and Subject files. The first subseries is primarily handwritten notes on pertinent issues in Island history such as Confederation, public administration, land question, fisheries, school question, etc. taken from legislative and other sources. The subject files contain correspondence, itineraries, reports, and newspaper clippings about Canadian and Prince Edward Island issues such as National Unity, the language issue, religion and politics and higher education. Much of the correspondence is to Premiers and Ministers. The files also contain biographical information, information concerning the 1964 PEI Centennial Commission, an assessment of Simon Fraser University and a student opinion poll from the University of Calgary.
