The subseries includes research files compiled by Katherine Dewar on a variety of individuals and topics in Island history, including World War I nurses, the Spanish American War, the history of Prince County Hospital, and Prince County Hospital School of Nursing. Files include handwritten and typed notes, drafts, correspondence, and photocopies of original records, including military attestation papers and newspaper articles. There are also interviews conducted by Katherine and accompanying transcripts or notes. Much of the material was used in the preparation of articles and book projects. A few drafts of articles are also included.
