History

The Rural Deanery was formed as a result of the final meeting of the Clerical Association of P.E.I. held in St. Paul's schoolroom in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, in 1909. It was decided at that time that the Clerical Association had "completed its term of usefulness" and that a Rural Deanery would take its place.
