Historique
The Sherbrooke Women's Institute was organized on 17 March 1921 at the home of Mrs. Leighton Milligan in Sherbrooke, Prince Edward Island. Sixteen women were present. From that date to the present the Institute has been involved in fund raising efforts such as socials and bazaars to support school and community projects as well as donations to various charities, towards prizes for the Provincial Exhibition, and for hospital equipment. The Institute is also active in lobbying officials concerning controverial issues as BGH in milk products.
