Scope and content

This fonds consists of a booklet summarizing the existing state of the fox industry ca. 1930 including prices current at the time for breeding stock and for pelts. It also discusses the proper building of fox ranches, care and feeding of the pups, and the development of fox registration. Particular reference is made to the excellence of Chequers Court farms and the quality of their product. Several inserts in the booklet identify individuals in photographs, give a brief history of fox farming on PEI and outline the history of Westbourne, the Heartz home on West Street, Charlottetown.
