The fonds consists of baptism, marriage, and death records of the Methodist, and Presbyterian churches which united to form this pastoral charge as well as records of the charge itself. It also includes membership and financial records and the minutes of official church groups. These have been intellectually organized into the following series:
Series 1: Souris Methodist Circuit
Series 2: Bay Fortune/Souris Presbyterian Charge
Series 3: Souris/Bay Fortune Pastoral Charge

The arrangement for microfilming does not reflect the intellectual arrangement of this description. Records were filmed by category of record rather than by volume, i.e. all baptisms within a denomination are filmed chronologically. Vital statistics records appear to have been filmed by denomination (Methodist then Presbyterian) but this does not always hold true. Some attempt has been made to reconstruct volumes but this has not always been possible. Records which overlap the 1925 Union date may be listed with the earlier Methodist or Presbyterian denominations or with the United Church depending on the volume of the records before or after the date or on whether or not they were determined to be included in a single volume
