History

St. Mark's Presbyterian Church came into being in February 1961 on the recommendation of a special committee set up by the Presbytery of Prince Edward Island to study the possibility of, and need for, establishing a congregation in the Sherwood-Parkdale area. Early services of the Sherwood-Parkdale Presbyterian Church as it was then called, were held in the Sherwood Hall. Construction of a manse was completed in December 1966 and of the Church in December 1968. The name was changed in 1967 to St. Mark's Presbyterian Church.
