Biographical history

Anna Faustina Gillis, daughter of John Daniel Gillis and Catherine Campbell was born on February 20,1898 and grew up in St. Peter's Bay, Prince Edward Island. At the age of 18 she went to work as a domestic in Brookline, a suburb of Boston. Upon her return home she worked for several years at Pratt's general store. On 19 October 1977 she married Thomas Alexander Ledwell (1887-1973) the son of William Ledwell, and Margaret O'Hanley of Souris and they had the following children: Jean, Richard, Catherine, William, Francis, Mary and Thomas. Anna Ledwell died in Charlottetown on 12 November 1991.
