Thomas H. Pope, son of Charles and Ann Pope, was baptized in Crapaud, Prince Edward Island, on 25 December 1848. He married Susan E. Yeo on 16 December 1874. Meacham

Scope and content
This fonds consists of four day books and two ledgers from Pope's days as a general merchant in Northam, Prince Edward Island. The day books date from 1 May 1883 to 10 August 1886 (the third day book is incomplete). The day books list the names and numbers of customers for each date, as well as the products purchased and the financial statements for each customer. The two ledgers contain customer information. Each entry, headed by the customer's name and lot number, is divided into debits and credits showing the date of each transaction, the product, and the price. Both ledgers have an index of names with corresponding page numbers. The second ledger also contains a county court execution order.
