Scope and content
The series consists of three subseries:
Subseries 1: Vital statistics [Reel 1]
Subseries 2: Administrative records [Reel 2]
Subseries 3: Womens Missionary Society records [Reel 8]
In 1873 the Bedeque/Tryon Methodist circuit was divided into two separate charges. The Tryon circuit which was comprised of Tryon, North Tryon, Cape Traverse, Crapaud and Westmoreland was administered by Rev. H. P. Cooperthwaite. By 1892 the circuit also included Victoria, DeSable, Augustine Cove, and Appin Road. In 1925, the Methodist and Presbyterian charges amalgamated to become part of the United Church of Canada. The two separate United Church pastoral charges of Tryon and Hampton were organized.

Arrangement
Because of the overlapping of records from Methodist to United, several volumes in this series contain records which more properly belong in Series 4
