History

The Unionvale Women's Institute was organized on 15 May 1950 by Miss Mary Robin and Miss Maylea Boswell. The Institute was active within the community, paying particular attention to the needs of the local school as well as the sick and the elderly. The Institute also supported the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, the Tuberculosis League, Cancer Fund, March of Dimes, Crippled Children's Fund, and the Prince County Hospital.
