Biographical history
The Village of Morell, Prince Edward Island, was incorporated in 1953 under the Village Service Act (RSPEI, 1951, Chap. 171). Commissioners appointed were James B. Jay, Aldius McKenzie and Louis B. McGuire. Commissioners and rate-payers met annually in February to discuss concerns and issues facing the development of the Village and its municipal responsibilities.

Scope and content
This fonds consists of records pertaining to the municipal administration and development of the Village of Morell and span the years 1953 to 1983, although the bulk of the material is from the 1960's. Correspondence and subject files relate to dealings with various government departments, individuals, companies, and organizations as well as with the operation of various municipal services. The fonds divides into the followings series: annual reports, minutes, financial records, subject files and correspondence files.
