Custodial history

Scope and content

The fonds consists of four audiocassettes recorded by Walter Noonan in 1986 and 1990. They contain genealogical information about the Noonan family in general and Walter's immediate family, as well as reminiscences of his childhood, youth, marriage, and later years. Individuals and families of Richmond are remembered along with descriptions of social occasions, sports (hockey and baseball in particular), agricultural equipment and activities, and Walter's personal experiences with alcohol. Railroad activities and winter conditions occupy a good deal of one tape. The major portion of the recollections are from the 1920s and 30s.
