Frederick John Edmund Wright, the son of Dugald Stewart Wright and Beria Stewart Black, was born 17 September 1877 in Searletown, Prince Edward Island. He grew up on the family farm, known as "Birch Grove" and later moved to Summerside. On 4 October 1918, he married Cora May Davison, daughter of Robert and Annie (McEwen) Davison. Following in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather, Wright held the position of High Sheriff of Prince County from approximately 1931 to 1947 after serving as his father's deputy for many years. Wright acted in other positions of public service including Master of Chancery, arbitrator, trustee for Bankruptcy and Bulk Sales Act cases, registrar of Motor Vehicles, and Health Tax Inspector for Summerside. He also owned a car dealership and was an insurance agent for Higgs and Co. Ltd. Agents of Palatine Insurance Company Ltd. Wright died 2 June 1947 in Summerside.
