Theodore Richard Wright was born 16 December 1821, in Bedeque, Prince Edward Island. He married his first cousin, Sarah Montgomery Wright (1828-1896) at the Mission House in Searletown on 11 July 1849. Around 1858, Theodore and Sarah moved to a new settlement on Shore Road, Lot 7, Prince County. Theodore built mills on Bear Pond, above Seal Point and ran oat, grist, saw and carding mills in addition to farming his land. A leader of the new community of Burton, named by Theodore in 1886, he was Post Master, and served as Justice of the Peace.
Theodore was also known to operate a lobster factory within the area. There was no harbour, but he had shipping stages built into the water. Goods, depending on the tide, were hauled by horse or rowboat. He also held 100 acres of land, a sawmill and a shinglemill at Campbellton in Lot 4. After his house at Burton was destroyed by fire, Theodore and Sarah moved to their Campbellton property and carried on their farming and milling operations.
Theodore took a deep interest in the Methodist cause and served as class leader, and Superintendent of the Sunday School and was also a member of the Trustee and Quarterly Boards of the Cape Wolfe circuit.
Theodore and Sarah had a number of children, Charles Thomas, Emily Jane, Annie Burtis (Bertes), Ingham Sutcliffe and Amanda Jane. Charles and Thomas died during childhood. They also adopted Frederick Charles, Martha Jane and William Webb, all formerly of the Burns family. Frederick was killed in an accident at the mill in Campbellton in 1889. Sarah died on 8 March 1896 followed by Theodore on 21 February 1914. Both are buried in Cape Wolfe United Church cemetery with all but two of their children. Little is known about their children, except for Ingham Sutcliffe.
Ingham was born 9 June 1859. He taught school for many years in western Prince County before he joined his father in the family business at the mills. He is also listed as a farmer and lobster packer in McAlpine's Directory. He married Isabella Walker of Freetown, PEI (1867-1919) on 20 January 1897. They had no children. Ingham died on 14 June 1931 in Campbellton.
