William Yeo, (1814-1872), the eldest son of James Yeo and Mary Francis, emigrated to Prince Edward Island from England in 1819 with his father and his father's second wife, Damaris Sargent. He grew up in Port Hill but returned to England in 1843 to act as his father's principal agent and to operate a shipyard in Appledore, near Bideford. William married Elizabeth Allen Williams in 1843 and had at least one child, a son William who died of croup on 27 March 1869. William, Senior, died at Richmond House, Appledore, on 18 July 1872.
