History

Charles Young was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on 30 April 1812, son of John Young and his wife Agnes Rennie. The family moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, when Charles was a child. He married Lucretia Jane Starr in 1838. Charles came to Prince Edward Island in 1838 as an agent for his family's fire and life insurance companies. He died at his home, Fairholm, Prince Street, Charlottetown, 26 March 1892.
