Historique
The Linkletter Women's Institute was organized in Linkletter, Prince Edward Island on 2 April 1918 with Mrs. Alfred C. Linkletter as first President, Mrs. M.A. Linkletter as Vice-President, and Mrs. Lloyd Linkletter as Secretary-Treasurer. Meetings were held on a monthly basis at the homes of the members. The primary focus of the Linkletter Women's Institute was the betterment of the local school and the community in general. Through their endeavours, they had a hardwood floor installed in the school, and had a pump set up for the students. Other activities included raising funds for various causes, as well as donating hand-made socks and quilts for both World Wars.
